Antique Mother of Pearl Opera Glasses circa 1900

Sorry, this item has sold.

A handsome pair of antique Mother of Pearl opera glasses made by Bigelow Kennard & Co., Boston. The frames are gilt bronze and have adjustable lenses.
The makers mark is on the viewing lens, some of the black lettering has worn, but is still legible.

There are panels of Mother of Pearl on the body cylinders, the focusing wheel and the viewing lenses where the makers marks are located. They focus very well and seem to zoom in as they focus.

They measure:
3 ½” inches wide on the viewing lens side
4” inches wide on the large lens side
2" inches tall when in the smallest position and 2 ½” inches tall when adjusted to the highest position.

They are in beautiful condition, the brass has little tarnish, the lens need a cleaning. They have been kept in the original leather and silk lined case. The case is included, but it has wear issues and is delicate. (Shown in photos 8 & 9)
