Mid Century Avedon Vermeil Money Clip – 1970s

Very nice pre-owed vermeil over sterling silver money clip from the 1970s. Harvey Avedon is known for making vermeil jewelry, which is jewelry with a sterling silver base and a layer of 24k gold plating that is at least 2.5 microns thick. Vermeil (pronounced ver-may) is considered to be a higher quality and more durable alternative to gold-plated jewelry which is a thinner layer of gold on a metal base.
