Antique Gorham Sterling Silver Solace Snuff Box circa 1890

This beautiful box has the word Solace stamped in relief and an elaborate engraved leaf and stem design. There is an engraved leaf and stem design on the underside of the lid above the word Solace.

The interior of the box has a gilt vermeil wash and holds the hallmark for Gorham Mtg Co plus additional hallmarks, Sterling and “0” on the underside of the lid.

Measurements: It is 3 ½” inches x 2 ¼” inches x ½” inches tall.
Weight: 3.5 ounces.

Pre-owned and gently used. The condition is beautiful there is one dent on the right front corner and some surface scratches. The hinge is strong and the closure is tight.
